Special workshops focusing on personalised house signs

Come and explore on how you can create your house sign that's both individual and creative.

This one day workshop, aimed at the creative and curious, is intended as an introductory day to provide a starting point for you to create your own personalised house sign. With a vast range of potential materials available to work with including, brick fragments, stones, glass, marble, metal, pre glazed ceramic mosaics pieces, etc On the day a basic selection of these will be provided. But please feel free to bring along any items of personal significance or interest that you might want to consider incorporating into your work; your own selection of ceramic or glass mosaic pieces, pet or finger prints fired into clay for example, a pebble or pebbles from a special beach, that holds a particular memory etc the choice is yours.

The big idea here is to make a start, to put some building blocks in place, to provide a foundation to help you develop your creative vision and voice.

During the workshop Tony will guide you through the necessary steps and approaches needed with a written guide, documenting, step by step, each stage of the making process. So although a take away finished piece is not the intention. All those who attend will have covered and gained the knowledge and confidence needed to complete a piece in their own time and style.

We will be looking at some finished pieces to help see where new creative solutions and blends of materials and fresh opportunity might be found. The emphasis will be on experimentation, sharing and exploring ideas, to give momentum to the process of creating your own finished piece of work. One that reflects your ideas, style, and taste.

Photocopied prints (x2) to scale of the lettering or numbers you intend making will be required as these will provide you with a template to work from. So choose carefully and that is where the fun and games begin.

Costs including basic range of materials and mounting board etc. £125 per person.
